Nutrient-packed Vegetarian Oat Patty
Ingredients

Handmade Oat Ball

  • 200g Quaker Instant Oatmeal
  • 1 piece Tau Kwa
  • 20g Diced Carrot
  • 20g Protein Meatless Crumbles
  • 2 tbsp Grounded Peanut
  • 2 tbsp Chopped Parsley
  • 1 tbsp Plain Flour
  • 1/2 tsp Ground Assorted Spices
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Pepper (to taste)
  • 1 tsp Oil (for pan-frying)

Other Ingredients

  • 1 Tomato
  • 1/2 Japanese Cucumber
  • 1/4 Yellow Capsicum
  • 1/4 Red Capsicum
  • 1/4 Pineapple

Sauce

  • 4 tbsp Tomato Ketchup
  • 1 tbsp Chilli Sauce
  • 1 tbsp Vegetarian Mushroom Oyster Sauce
  • 1 tbsp Light Soy Sauce
  • 1 tbsp Plum Sauce
  • 1/2 tsp Sweet Sauce

Garnish

  • Coriander
Procedure

Handmade Oat Patty

  1. Put protein meatless crumbles and diced carrot into a chopper to grind into fine pieces.
  2. Add in grounded peanut, mix well and set aside mixture.
  3. Crumble the tau kwa using a fork into mince-like texture. Add into mixture and mix well.
  4. Cut parsley into fine pieces and add into mixture.
  5. Add in ground assorted spices, salt, pepper and mix well.
  6. Add Quaker instant oatmeal and plain flour into the mixture and mix well.
  7. Divide into 25 portions and shape it into balls. 
  8. Press down to flatten the ball to reduce the usage of oil when pan-frying.
  9. Pan-fry the oat patties till light golden brown color. Put aside. (Tip: Use non-stick pan to reduce oil usage)

Sweet and Sour Sauce

  1. Cut yellow capsicum, red capsicum, japanese cucumber, tomato and pineapple into pieces.
  2. Add oil onto pan and pan-fry the ingredients above.
  3. Add in tomato ketchup, chilli sauce, vegetarian mushroom oyster sauce, light soy sauce, plum sauce, and sweet sauce. Stir well on medium heat.
  4. Pour the sauce over the oat patties.
  5. Garnish with some coriander.
